Protect Your Property with Stylish Security Shutters.
The need for security is becoming increasingly important in today’s world, and one of the most effective ways to protect homes and businesses is by using security shutters. In this article, we explore the features and benefits of Sequre’s security shutters, which are designed to serve as strong and effective security barriers.
In the Name of Security Shutters
A clue lies in the name and nature of modern security shutters. “Shutter” evokes an image of a series of slats that are linked one to the other by various means. A traditional shutter is designed to close door and window openings, while shutting out intrusive light, wind, rain, inclement weather, and unwelcome visitors or intruders, although strictly speaking, it’s not known as a security product.
However, Sequre’s security shutters are manufactured to serve as strong, effective security barriers, as indicated by the product’s descriptive name. Once installed, these shutters close window and door openings entirely, or they offer a semi-transparent view to outdoor areas or into an interior spaces, depending on the particular type of slat that’s selected by the customer.
How Security Shutters Operate
Our security shutters’ design allows the linked slats to roll up into a large, multi-layered cylinder or roll, which is held in place with special brackets above the door or window.
The intruder-resistant locking system is fitted to the bottom of the roller shutter, whilst side guides ensure that the product is securely held in place to prevent intrusion. For extra convenience, these security barriers may be motorised.
Choice of Slat Styles
Our customers’ preferences, properties, and priorities vary, which is why we custom manufacture our security shutters with a choice of slats styles.
- Solid – blocks out light and views in both directions (inwards and outwards).
- Fenestra – slats feature apertures along their length, offering partial views. Apertures are ideal for ventilation when shutters are closed.
- Perforated – tiny holes are punched out throughout the slat’s material, so that light is filtered and a semi-screened or filtered view is offered.
Materials Used to Manufacture of Security Shutters
Two different metal alloys are used to manufacture each of our security shutter types – galvanised steel and aluminium. Each has its own unique look and finish, despite being similar in function.
Galvanised Steel
Galvanised steel is widely known for its strength and durability. People often refer to the noteworthy strength of related and quite unrelated items as being “as strong as steel”.
Features include:
- Plain galvanised or powder-coated finish – the former provides a trendy industrial look, while the latter appears more refined.
- Push-pull or chain operating system if not motorised
- Ideal to secure shop fronts, patios, loading zones, driveway entry points, factories, and garages, as an alternative to traditional garage doors
Aluminium Security Shutters
Here are a few features of our aluminium security shutters:
- Comparatively lightweight with relatively soft operation
- Solid or fenestra slats
- Attractive and stylish security option, which enhances the property’s investment value
- Powder-coated with optional colour choices
- Applications include doorways, patios, windows, staircases, passages, and openings that you wish to secure.
